On April 13th, the Party Central Committee decided to support the construction of a free trade pilot zone on Hainan Island, support Hainan to gradually explore and steadily promote the construction of free trade ports with Chinese characteristics, and establish a free trade port policy and institutional system in steps and phases.
On June 3th, after deep investigation and overall planning by the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government, it was decided to establish Haikou Jiangdong New District as the key leading area for the construction of China (Hainan) Free Trade Pilot Zone.
Foreseeable Future:
By 2020, important progress has been made in the construction of the free trade pilot zone, and international openness has increased significantly.
By 2025, the free trade port system has been initially established, and the business environment has reached the domestic first-class level.
By 2035, the system and operation mode of the free trade port will be more mature, and the business environment will be among the highest in the world.
