“Canada China Innovation and Investment Forum” was successfully held by Invest Ottawa and Zhongguancun Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (“ZVCA”) in China Hotel on November 18^th, 2015, which is supported by Ottawa government, Beijing government Foreign Affairs Office, Haidian District government, Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Haidian Science Park, Zhongguancun Development Group and Hehuoquan Financial Information Service Co., Ltd. There are speech made by Mayor of Ottawa Jim Watson, Deputy Mayor of Beijing Zhenjiang Sui, Ambassador of Canada in China Guy Saint-Jacques and President of ZVCA Shaojie Wang, after the speeches, there are 9 hi-tech enterprises from Ottawa show their projects and have B2B meeting in the afternoon with Chinese investors.

The topic of this meeting is “Canada China Innovation and Investment Forum: Why Ottawa?”, Mayor Jim Watson first introduce the investment environment of Ottawa and working situation of Invest Ottawa, and President of Invest Ottawa also introduce the importance of economy status of Ottawa in Canada, in the end, Director of Travel Trade of Ottawa Tourism Diane Houston introduce the nice nature environment in Ottawa, at the same time, she welcomes all the investors travel to Ottawa. 

There are Artenga, iNano, Medical Inc., Lumenera Corporation, Graphite Software Corporation, Signority, ChemChamp, Starwood Group, Celtic House, In-TAC shows their projects during the meeting, those project are covered by industries of medical device, mobile APP, remote medical, big data and new tech etc., and they had B2B investment meeting with Chinese investors in the afternoon.

Ottawa is regarded as Silicon Valley in Canada, which has top-ranking scientific research institute, universities and colleges, University of Ottawa and Carleton University are two major universities in Ottawa. Since 90s century, Ottawa’s hi-tech industry develops very fast to become economy's mainstays of Ottawa.

Ottawa Investment Forum is the last event of “Canada China Investment Forum Series” which are held by ZVCA, another two are Vancouver and Ontario investment Forums, there are over 40 Canadian enterprises and over 200 Chinese investors participated in these forums. This Forum Series is regarded as building international view for Chinese investors and Canadian enterprises, it is good opportunity for Chinese investors to know more about Canadian hi-tech enterprises, an important channel for Chinese enterprises to be internationalized as well.
